'Our standards are just fine' - really???
Gotta love grandstanding politicians. Number one, NC adopted
Common Core over 15 months ago, and these jokers just figured
it out?
Secondly, the school board has zero say in the state adoption
of standards. Durham can't opt out, and they certainly won't
say 'no thanks' to RTT money either.
Third, do these guys really think that textbook and assessment
companies don't make billions off the current system? What's
the difference? If anything, going to Common Core will
severely cut into overall profits, since the companies won't
have to develop state specific products, and it will be lead to
greater competition.
