Yep. Agreed.
But their memories are very short indeed.
It wasn't long ago that they couldn't find teachers, particularly
for those "hard to fill" positions like SPED, ESL, physics, math
and general science.
The lean times we are in won't last forever. There are already
signs that things are starting to turn around. That, coupled
with the reality that a lot of us "boomers" are going to be
retiring in the next few years and the fact that new teachers
don't tend to stay long, particularly when reality hits them
square in the nose, and there will be another critical shortage
in North Carolina.
The "suits" might be haughty and full of themselves right now,
but as the old addage goes....."what goes around, comes
around....." and they're settting the children of this state up
for a mighty fall.
