I am moving to New Hampshire at the end of November,
because my fiance is being stationed there. I knew it
would be difficult to look for a position mid year and
didn't expect to find one, but now I'm losing hope that I
will ever be able to teach in New Hampshire, because of
the certification requirements. I graduated from the
University of Delaware with a double major in French and
German Education. I completed my student teaching and
then went off to teach English in Martinique for about 5
months. So, all in all, I only have about a year of
teaching experience and requirements say I need 3 years.
I'm certified to teach French in DE only. I see there are
other options for certification, like creating a portfolio
and presenting it to the school board. But, I honestly,
don't even know where to begin with that. Any advice you
have to offer would be greatly appreciated.
