Let me add that our board and staff know we are looking but we
have not formally resigned as that didn't seem prudent without
a firm offer in hand. My husband has interviewed twice in
Vermont--was offered one position and declined because he felt
it was not a good fit. He was not offered the other. I am
talking with a school in Vermont next week. As stated in my
earlier post, our biggest reason for considering the Northeast
was because we felt we would both be likely to fit in well in
many of the schools, which makes finding two suitable positions
easier than if there are big differences from town to town and
district to district.
Let me know if you want additional info on our school...it is a
very unique situation not without its challenges but also with
some wonderful rewards. Be aware that the state of Hawaii has
a dismal record when it comes to supporting charter schools and
funding is even more uncertain given the current economic
climate.
