    Check the teacher contract. Many do have limits as to how long someone can
    teach as a substitute without getting paid as a teacher.

    It seems to me that they should have at least put you on Step One with no
    benefits.

    Check with HR. Just ask the question. I have taught for ___________days.
    When do I get put on Step One or get a raise in pay? It is a valid question.
    No one can fault you for looking into making sure that you get paid what you
    deserve.
