I'm a senior waiting on a reply from some colleges in NJ. I
would like to persue a career as an Elementary School
Teacher with a minor in LA.

I spoke with an elementary teacher in my district and she
said that schools are looking for people who are familiar
with the Readers and Writers Workshop Model (developed by
Columbia University) and my best bet is to go to a school
that teaches that.

Montclair State doesn't but if you student teach in Fair
Lawn then you will get some experience with it. Kean
Univeristy doesn't but if you get to student teach in Edison
then you can get experience in it as well.
