Re: Is TCNJ good for teaching?

I was at a workshop for future administrators and the
presenter said that she always hired teachers from TCNJ and
had wonderful experience with them. My daughter is in her
last year at Kean and they have an excellent program.
As far as writer's & reader's workshop - most schools have
that program so you'll be exposed to it during your
internships. You can also pay to attend the training
sessions in NY for the Colubia Teacher's College- Units of
Study -Lucy Calkins training. If at all possible try to go
for dual certification programs (special ed or ESL) that will
give you an extra edge when you are looking for a job. Good
luck on your choice!
