Have you ever been a sub? I would sub for a few days prior
to making such a huge decision. You might want to talk to
some of theteachers at the school first, or at the very least
talk to the teacher you would be replacing. Why do they need
a long term sub anyway? I wouldn't make this decision
blindly, get some information first.
Teaching is a hard job. You have hours of lesson plans to
type every week, endless amounts of assessments to score each
week, and a huge responsibility to the students you teach.
It's not for everyone. With that being said, it is one
profession where you feel as though you are making a
difference.
If you're happy at your job and you make good money, I would
wait until the economy takes a turn for the better. Try
subbing a few days to see what you think.
