I'm fed up with my salary being cut and I'm seriously considering moving to NJ. I have 13 years of teaching experience, a B.A., and National Board Certification. I plan to get one of those online Master's degrees too. Is my move worth it? I'm a single mom with 2 kids and I worry we won't be able to afford buying a house, taxes, health care. I've done research, but can't get a straight answer about salary, and hearing first-hand accounts of the teaching situation in NJ is important so I can weigh the pros and cons.

What can I expect? Are there affordable, good places to live in NJ? I have relatives in Paterson, but I'm not willing to live there for my kids' sake. We live in a good neighborhood in Miami so I don't want to make a move that would harm them.

I really want details, the truth, the good, bad, and ugly.
