I work as a special education teacher in a middle school setting. I work with different teachers, and arrive as class is starting. I work hard to help my students and other struggling students. I provide in class support. On my instruction domain, I received a 2. He only commented on student groupings. He said I should rethink it. What does that mean? The general ed teacher set up the classroom, and that particular class was in rows. I request easy access to my students. The lesson the principal observed was a whole class lesson. However, at other times we do partner work, center group activities, and I take students to the back table or resource room for remedial help. I also offer extra help 2 days a week after school. I feel this rating was unfair, but how do I diplomatically talk to him about it? I got a rating of 3 in another domain. I have a 2.5 and feel demoralized. I'm also not tenured. : (
