This is my third year teaching, and this year I am at a new school district. The job has always put me on a bit of edge, having to constantly be "ON" at all times with students, and with the high level the stress the job brings. But this year at the new school, the stress and anxiety are at an all time high. I dread each day I have to go in, and I can't enjoy the weekend because I know that yet another week is soon to begin. I hate feeling this way, and at times, it can be crippling. I know I am a good teacher, I am just slowly finding that this profession might be the wrong one for me. I have been seriously considering resigning (probably since November) and I'm just wondering if it is a plausible idea at this point in the year. There are 107 instructional days left, and I really think it is only hurting me by staying there.

a few ideas Find out if you can take a "leave of absence." Find out if you can finish the year out by transfering into another position that is less stressful. Try to pinpoint if there is one particular thing that is causing a lot of the stress and try to get support for that in the interim.
