Wow...I was just googling rights of non-tenured teachers and
this was one of the websites that came up. I actually teach in
Nashville, TN and am experience a VERY similar situation. I
have actually taught for 3 years, am fully certified in business
education, and was recently displaced due to supposed "budget
cutbacks". Yet, my district has also rehired several teachers
to teach the same thing I was teaching who are not currently
fully certified and has also hired over 410 new teachers this
years. I am crushed. It's really sad the lack of respect that
teachers receive. Here, job security equals being in the right
circle.
