I am an Australian final year undergraduate student studying a Bachelor of Learning Management (Secondary and Vocational, Education and Training) which I believe translates into a Bachelor of Secondary Education in the United States. I recently studied abroad at New Mexico State University and fell in love with New Mexico and in particular Albuquerque and the surrounding regions. I graduate this year and I am hoping to work full time at either a Middle school or a High school within the region beginning January 2011. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Given that I am not an American resident or citizen, I would require sponsorship for employment, is this common? Is it realistic? After I graduate I will get my transcripts evaluated by an American company and apply for a New Mexico teacher license. Is there anything else I should do? I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, but have it a little easier since I will be trying to find employment in NM from another state, not another country. kk Why do you want to leave Austalia for USA? I've heard that Australia is a much better place than US full of crime in addition going through an economic depression. Just curious.
