Re: WONDERING
Posted by: they told me about it on 7/02/09
I was hired last summer and did receive the hiring bonus as well, but
the induction and mentoring progam was explained fully to us. Last year
they started new hires at step 3, which is now step one, but at the time
we started on step 3 on the condition that we completed the program. If
we chose not to do the program we would not be brought down to the lower
pay but we woule not get the step increases for I think it was 2 years?
The way it was explained it was worth going ahea with the program. Now
there is no step 1 and 2 that started at I think 30,000 a year but you
have to do the induction program. It seems to work it self out in the
long run and you do get some neat books and supplies at the sessions.
The bonuses started becasue of the desperate need to lure teachers to
Nevada, now there are more teachers applying than they can use so why
would they give a bonus when there is no longer a need to?That would be
very foolish to continue don't you think, I was actually surprised that
they did not stop it last year.
