Re: Moving to Vegas

My husband and I are moving to Vegas next summer and I am having anxiety about leaving my current school district. I currently teach 5th grade for Howard County Public School System in Maryland, one of the highest rated districts in the country. From the things that I have read on these boards, CCSD doesn't seem to be a great district in which to teach. Please alleviate my anxiety and tell me that it isn't as bad as I think.

Anne My husband and I are moving to Vegas this October - he's military. Been frantically digging around looking up info on the school districts there! Fingers crossed.

There is an article in the RJ saying that the district expects to start the year with 700 open positions.

taco There is only one school district: Clark County School District. There is a fairly big teacher shortage in CCSD right now, but some of that depends on what you are certified to teach.
