It is harder to get a job without an active certificate in
hand. Thanks to NCLB, many schools won't bother with teachers
on anything less than full credentials. You really, really
need to get your certificate/license so you are an attractive
candidate.

Ohio, I didn't look elsewhere.

How close are you to the IN line? I know my principal said
there is a shortage of Spanish teachers there, they had a
really hard time finding someone for us last year. If you
have OH credentials, you can get IN credentials, as they are
reciprocating states.
