    Posted by look at your contract on 8/06/08

    it may be paid by your school district. My district "picked-
    up" the whole 10% but others may pick up only a portion or
    none at all.The pick-up really helps at retirement time. The
    pick-up is reported as income and your final three highest
    years is 10% higher. As a result your pension goes way up. If
    you teach 35 years then you may retire with about the same
    salary that you were making teaching.
