Oh, this is definitely not just you who is feeling this
way. This is my 13th year of teaching and this year seems
to be more overwhelming than all of the others. The
pressure on all of us just keeps mounting. I'm lucky to
work with a great group of people. We constantly lean on
each others shoulders and cry the blues, but...we are able
to vent to one another and this does help to relieve some of
the stress we all feel.
Just know that this is going on everywhere, so don't take it
personally. SOME people just need to be more realistic
about what we are capable of doing. How about holding the
students somewhat accountable? Oh, wait. That just might
make too much sense. ;-) Don't get me wrong. I have
several students who truly give it their all when it comes
to trying to do their best. However, I have just as many
who don't give a hoot because they know there are no
consequences for their actions - good or bad.
