    Re: OGET
Posted by Reena Street on 10/08/08

I too am getting ready to take the OGET for the first time in
November. I was not informed that I could have taken it during
the summer in case I didn't pass and needed to take it again.
Now I only have one chance of I won't be accepted into the
Teacher Education Prgram this year. If I don't pass, I will
have to take it again and wait until next year to get accepted.
So it is very crucial that I pass.

I bought the Best Teachers Test Prep book and have been looking
through it lately. I attempted to take the practice test on the
CD but did not complete the essay part. When I reviewed my
score it said I had made a 195. Realizing that this was not
very good, it made me wonder how much weight the Essay part of
the test accounted for. I found that the questions account for
80% and the essay for 20%. If my calculations are correct then,
you can score a total of 240 points on the questions and 60 on
    the essay.

Does anyone know if this information is correct or not? I too
found the practice test very hard. I'm a little worried if the
real test is that complicated. It has been 17 years since I
have had most of my Gen Ed classes so I'm a little rusty.
