Is your certification a RI certification? If not you need to
get certified in RI asap. There is a link on the
certification link for reciprocity agreements. If you can be
certified with reciprocity apply now. Do not wait. There have
been major staff reductions at the state level and things
take much longer than usual.
Even though there are jobs for sped teachers most systems
will not consider you if anyone with current certification
applies. The state dept of ed is not giving emergency
certificates unless the district has no certifed applicants.
Cumberland had a job fair during Feb vacation for openings
that they know they will have in the fall. The web site
stated that they were only accepting applications from those
who were RI certified.
