Hello social studies teachers. I'd like to invite you to
check out the website http://www.historytunes.com. At this
site you will find free resources to accompany the US
History Songbook. The US History Songbook is a fantastic
new teaching tool that tells the amazing 400 year story of
America through 50 highly catchy pop/rock songs. The lyrics
of these songs were written based on thourough examination
of various standardized tests. The free resources that aid
these songs are: a synopsis of each song's topic, images,
lyrics with interactive vocabulary tiered questions for
each song which are scaffolded based on Bloom's Taxonomy,
and standardized test PREP including multiple choice, DBQ,
and thematic essay practice. To get an idea of the songs,
please visit http://www.youtube.com/user/HistoryTunes?
feature=mhum where you will find 7 videos. We hope you can
use this in your classroom, please pass it along to your
collegues and students if you think they would benefit.
