Re: Anyone familiar with Section 8 housing in S.C. (Good pos
Posted by Will Rogers on 7/08/07

    Patty,

I am headed to Jasper County Schools in the Lowcountry. I agree with what you say below,
too. I am slated to be a 6th grade social studies teacher at West Hardeeville Elemenary.
The district has just cleaned out most (they kept 1 asst. principal - mine) of the
principals and asst. principals...just got a new superintendant.

My wife found us a nice 3br apartment on lady's island in Beaufort.

We had out current place broken into, so we are trying to raise the cash to move. I just
love it here in Western PA. :-( We hve had a continual bad experience out here, unlike the
rest of the state, but my wife and I have learned a lot, and we now have 2 beautiful girls
which are a true blessing. :-)

Depending on the type of life you want to live (uran, suburban, rural), you can find a good
teacing position in SC. You can check each district's site for openings, and go to
www.cerra.org and see jobs there on their jobs link. I recommend using www.city-data.com to
look at demographic informatin wherever you are looking to take a teaching positon,as you
can compare your salary with the local economic information.

Is there anything else I can assist with? Please let me know. :-)

    Will
