Post: taxes in SC compared to NC/moving from NY
Posted by Shay on 2/22/08
Hi, I am living in Buffalo, NY and pay half of my check
every 2 weeks to taxes and union dues. Our starting pay is
very comparable, and I'm sure with the rate Sc is going, it
will beat our caps soon anyway. We were actually on a
salary freeze for 3 yrs prior to my getting hired. I was
wondering what % the taxes are there and if I would be able
to afford a home in the area. My salary now as a 2nd yr.
teacher is 39K. My checks are 1900 every 2 weeks, and I
take home about 1000. I have been looking at the Fort mill
district-York 4. My family lives in Tega Cay, way too
expensive for me, but like the general area. I'm looking at
150000-if possible. Any suggestions. Thanks.
