I wanted to respond to "Quit...". As a teacher, I know that there
are two sides to every story and am not trying to argue the point
of who is right or wrong. However, I would like to address the
attitude of throwing up your hands and quitting if there is truly a
problem within the school that is effecting the children's
education. The only thing that attitude will accomplish is a
continuation of the way things are going. If the conditions truly
are not supporting the students in an optimal and positive way,
then it is your responsibility to be their voice and not pass the
burden on to someone who is willing to comply with the current
situation solely for the paycheck. I understand that teaching jobs
are scarce right now and if one does not want to be there, there
are plenty of people that do but please remember the reason any
teacher is employed...to be there for the students. Bottom line,
please remember that you are a role model for the students and they
will adopt the same attitude that you have...what if they decided
to quit school too? Good luck finding a job in a school with no
students!
