I have been on Greenville County and have yet to be hired full-time, though I have been on numerous interviews. Now to be fair and honest there are things I could have done that would have made it easier for me to be hired as far as having all my ducks in a row. Also there are black people that teach and work in the system even the former super was a black woman. But if you look at the majority of the schools as far as who is working in Greenville County Schools they are vastly white!

If you are not a black person born and bred in South Carolina, I believe the chances of getting hired hear are slim to none. The whole job market here in general is about who you know and who knows you! If somebody's best friend, uncle, daddy, grandpa, next door neighbor,or good ole' spot the dog in the doghouse can't vouch for you, you will have a very hard time getting hired here.

Teacher in Greenville County What a crock!! Not only does the school I teach at have several black teachers (male and female), there are black administrators and guidance counselors. Not sure where you interviewed, but clearly not at my school.
