Posted by from TN, live in CT now and have the same problem... on 10/02/08 I can't believe TN is having the same problem. We were also told of all these supposed shortages in CT-- not in my part of the state! I even have some experience, and am back subbing again. With all the loans I took out to go back to school to get certified and get a master's, it is very distressing. I also have come to realize it has a lot do with who you know. It is frustrating. I guess we just have to keep looking and trying, and that gets hard after a while, I am also finding. I keep hearing NC needs teachers. Are you near that part of the state? Sorry, I am terrible with localized geography. I grew up in Memphis and I think you are pretty far from my part of the state. You could always go teach there; but I admit that is something I could never, ever do. Good luck to you. I keep telling myself someone has to quit, get pregnant, transfer... hopefully I will be at the right place at the right time to get that job.
