Posted by Lillie on 8/22/08 It's the same way in Indiana. I applied to a gazillion jobs and districts and I have experience in my subject area that quite frankly they should be really excited about. I got one interview and never heard back from them. However, I know that God wants me teaching, so I'm going to go ahead and substitute for a while and see if I can get a foot in the door that way. Sure hope so. It's very disheartening to have so much schooling and experience and a desire to teach and not be able to even get an interview. I agree that it seems that the decision is made in most cases before the position even opens up.
