Jessica:
I am scheduled to have my intial interview this coming Saturday.
I will fill you in on all the details when I get back on Sunday
night. With many of the babyboomers retiring from the teaching
profession, others simply get burned out and quiting after ten or
so years and the few number of graduates entering the vocation,
there is certainly a need for teachers in all subject areas across
the nation. Bureaucracy and incompetency are the two core reasons
the entire process is lengthy and frustrating. I sometimes truly
wonder what many of the people in human resources do every day.
One thing I have discovered is that by law schools must post job
openings in the newspaper and online even though some or if not
most personnel departments already know whom they want to hire.
This is where nepotism and cronyism come into play.
Though I am well qualified for the position in Memphis, I am
doubtful about getting it due to some bureaucratic hitch. I
wonder if it would have been wiser to have opted for the telephone
interview first.
