Post: 28 students placed and 6 more to go for the fall
These are two wonderful AFSers who still needs loving host
families for the fall. They would be great matches for
families who golf, have small children and/or would love a
student who plays the guitar. David is a full Congress-
Bundestag scholaship student. They are all academically
talented and speak very good English as well as are
medically fully insured throughout their AFS year.
Contact Jackie Smiley if you are interested at
jackie.smiley@gmail.com or 615-947-6955 or myself and we
can send you a full bio to view. To arrive on time, they
need placements in welcome or permanent homes soon. The
arrival dates are August 12-14. Below we also are sending
you the names and countries of all of the students who
still need placements. I am sending you more on the student
from Iceland. The folks at APSU in music and art have been
helping me, but have yet to find a loving host family. You
may be that family.
Thanks for any assistance you may offer.
Emelie from Sweden
Emelie is open-minded and sociable. She enjoys playing golf
a lot and dancing, and participates in a school theater
class. Emelie likes spending time with her family, and
often plays golf together with her parents, her brother and
her grandparents. Emelie loves little children and dogs,
and enjoys taking care of her family's cocker spaniel. She
is not sure yet about her plans for the future, but she can
imagine becoming an architect or working with children.
David from Germany
David’s passion is playing the guitar; he takes weekly
lessons. He is also part of a traditional German shooting
club called “Schützenverein.” David enjoys tack and field,
especially sprinting and long-jumping. He is interested in
trying new sports during his year abroad. David is a very
positive and friendly person. His family is important to
him, and he considers his older brother one of his best
friends. David is close to parents as well as his cousins.
Studying is important to David, and he would like to
incorporate his knowledge of languages in his future career.
