Unfortunately, unions too often become bigger abusers of workers
rights than the employer. My SIL works in CA as a teacher and the
union confiscates over $800/year of her money without her having
any say. They dictate what times you will or will not work, and
even IF you will work (i.e. a strike). While unions, as in many
things, look good on paper, when one introduces the human element,
they leave much to be desired.
