There is a huge growing opt out movement of angry parents against
state testing. The move to suspend Math STAAR pass requirements is
seen as the first victory. Testing is used to control teachers and
if teachers were smart they would join in and help parents fight.
It is just the same as CSCOPE. We were able to undermine the
lessons and get those thrown out. Join in. There is power in
numbers. Teachers stand up for your job. Don't wait for the
teacher orgs to help. They are in bed with the testing machine.
