Well yeah those are all good things. Structure, organization,
content, methodology and pedagogy, standardizing them is a
good thing. So when one students leaves school A and District
A and goes to school B and district B they dont lose anything
in the transfer, and anything that is lose the teacher knows
because they are using the same scope and sequence. All of
those things are basically standards and standards are good,
I want my iPhone 6 made to the same standard as everyone
elses, its the same with education, they all take the same
assessment it would be highly advisable if they mastered the
    same content.

Sure have them sign it, they wont, but even if they did so
what, you the teacher just didnt follow the lesson plan, or
the delivery strategy. You are in charge of the instructional
delivery and presentation of the material. A automobile
manual doesnt actually drive the car, and if theres an
accident its your fault, not the manuals. A poor chef blames
the recipe. A poor result doesnt indicate the recipe was
wrong, only that you didnt prepare it correctly.
