I sincerely doubt you will read my comments, and if you do I
what no confidence you will consider what I say and answer with
    any type direct response.

I am going to ask you one direct question -

What is the name of a public school or district in Texas that
uses the Common Core State Standards?

    Can you answer that?

Give me the name of a public school or district using CCSS. If
it is "all over" our schools, it shouldn't be hard to do.
    You're anonymous, this is a non-registered, public chatboard -
    spill the beans.

Until you provide some proof of what you say, your rantings are
    meaningless to thinking people.

    >Please don't write me back and inform me that CC is a set of
    >standards and we have the TEKS, blah, blah, blah.

OK. No point in restating the obvious.

    >Inform yourself. Read about the growing backlash against Common
    >Core in Texas schools and ask yourself if all of those parents
are just mistaken or maybe there is something you don't get.

I have read about it. And yes, I think "all of those" parents
    are mistaken.

    1. I have yet to see any proof that CCSS is in any TX public
school. I know several private schools that use national
    standards.

    2. I have seen almost no concerns in my part of the state, so I
have no confidence that "all of those" is even a significant
    number.

    >The parents who are fighting this are extremely well read and
    >informed on Common Core and they get that it is much bigger
    >than a "set of standards."

I am also extremely well-read and informed, but I am not getting
the same information you and your compadres are getting. Please
point me to one credible, impartial source to support that CCSS
    is in TX public schools.

I know there are large numbers of people that don't like
national standards, you don't have to tell me that. I disagree
with the premise; I do support national standards, but that is
not what I am am questioning.

I am asking you to name the public schools or districts in Texas
that are using CCSS. Can you do that?

    >And newsflash, it is here in Texas. You owe it to
    > yourself, if you are in education, to be well informed instead
    >of sticking your head in the sand.

I am trying to be. I am trying to see both sides. Your side has
yet to provide any compelling evidence to support what you are
saying. If you want me to change my mind, or at least see you
side, give me a reason to. All I have is your (and I don't even
know who you are are) disgruntled comments on a chatboard.

Just to make sure I wasn't missing something new, I googled
"Texas opt out." I scrolled through three pages of opting out
of testing links. Nothing new there and nothing to support your
claim that CCSS is in Texas schools.

Then I googled "Texas opt put common core" and scrolled through
four pages of links. Again, nothing new and nothing to support
    your assertions,

    >Just look around from school to school and you will see the
    >Common cult being imbedded. It is pretty hard to miss.

Where?????? Give me an actual example. My immediate (including
myself) family works/has worked in seven TX school districts in
the last few years. All big city or suburbs of big cities. Not
one of us has seen any evidence of CCSS or any national
    standards.

Lots of TEKS. Lots of STAAR. Lots of oppressive district
    mandated
    testing.
District mandated scope and sequences and pacing guides, no
prescribed curriculum or instructional methods. Even the
districts that used C-Scope didn't mandate the lessons, just the
scope and sequence. One district didn't even mandate that.

The ONLY school in my familial network that used national
standards is the elite, private, college prep school.
