No those parents are misinformed. Just as parents arent qualified to
tell me how to run my classroom, they are seldom in a position to
discuss curriculum intelligently. First, STANDARDS ARE GOOD. Parents
wanted this because the alternative was no accountability. tahts how
we got teachers pets and athletes who graduated with diplomas but
the athletes couldnt read and the girls couldnt do basic mathematics

Backlash doesnt matter people will always attack those issues they
disagree with, lots of smokers lashed out against public smoking,
because that was important to them, myself Im glad its gone. I also
support real standards of academic achievement.
