    if you work for Windham

*ten years to be vested for insurance coverage for retirement
*If you cashed in your TRS, you will start over with TRS. That
is bad news for you and the new TIER plans with TRS I think you
may not be able to retire until 65, please check TRS website.
and will be a Year one service employee Windham ISD does not
pay into ERS, but Windham r employees do enjoy the better
    insurance that the guards enjoy.
*Windham pays on scale with local school district, but with a
220 day contract (Huntsville ISD is one of the lowest paid
districts in the state, but Windham works more days and that
makes those jobs desirable to Huntsville teachers) I focus on
Huntsville because 11 prisons are in and around Huntsville.
*the guards are outside the door and misbehavior is not
    tolerated, you will feel safe.
*You may not carry anything into or outside the unit
*You may not have a phone, so you will be out of contact with
your other business and family while at work.
*jobs can be difficult to obtain, unless you are vocational
    certified- then easier.

Good teachers work for Windham, they are skilled professionals.
