The last I heard, WWAAT was out of business as of 2008.

I know several people who were "nominated" before they had ever
    actually taught.

I know the family of a high school teacher who passed away 6 years
    before she was "nominated".

Over the years, I've seen lots of teaching applications that list
this as an honor on their application and resume. We are told to
    ignore it.

It was a scam to get teachers to buy the book, mugs, plaques and
    other memorabilia they sell.
