Until you get your actual certification you will have to take
pretty much whatever job you can take. More likely you will
find a job in early August or closer to the beginning of the
school start. Just start filling out applications.
My daughter-in-law did the alternative certification route while
she was working as an aide at her children's school. Once
finished she ended up taking a job at title 1 school district 60
miles away. Did a fabulous job there, but applied for a job
closer to home the next year and got it. Loves what she is doing
and the district loves her.
Advice - stay focused
join a local math collaberative and attend this summer
= (Texas Regional Collaberative) as this may help you network
and locate a job)
if you don't find a teaching job, at least apply for
an aide position or substitute at various schools to get known.
(My district hires good subs).
Good luck!
