Post: Safeguarding - public board with student names and photos

    Hi there

My school (secondary, England) has just put up a "data wall" with photos
of every yr 7 and 8 student, showing their academic progress (or lack of
    it)

I am uncomfortable with this for many reasons, but I am most concerned
about safeguarding; the corridor in question is open to the public every
weekend so parents and children from all over our area can see the
boards, take pictures and so on.

My headteacher says this is not a safeguarding issue, and cannot see
anything wrong with it. In my opinion this would not be safe online and is
not safe in the real world either. But he has challenged me to find a
statute or reference that confirms my position.

    Please can anyone comment?

    Thanks very much,

    Eric
