A year or so ago there were posts about the problems that people were having--too many diet regulations or something. Was there ever a good resolution to that? Because I have been asked to head our family reunion this year (we do ours every 2 years but I have not been for 10 years due to living outside the country). My mom was going to do it but she passed away last fall.

The food thing freaks me out after what happened at our family Christmas dinner--some would take 2-3 pieces of cake at one time so others did not get any. And they were like "Christmas only comes once a year so I'm gonna enjoy it!!" Totally lacking in regard for others who didn't get any cake. One cousin made sure she set aside cake for her family plus a few extra pieces. When I went to put it back on the dessert table, she stuck her finger in the top of each piece to "mark" it! MalloryJane Our family always does a potluck that we can make sure that there is enough for everyone and everyone has something that they like and can eat. My daughter has food allergies and most of the family tries to be accommodating but I always make sure to bring her something that she can eat.

Do be careful about allergies. It might take just a tiny bit or even casual contact to kill someone. Two peop...See More

OP I'm ordering from a catering company and have let everyone know what the choices are--baked or fried chicken or the veggie meal. And if they have allergies they should bring their own specialized foods. I have a tiny apartment and can't cook for 100 or so people! I am ordering chocolate and vanilla ice cream and chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and h...See More
