4th Grader Question

My son was diagnosed with CAPD and Dyslexia last year. His teacher this year sent me text messages of what the classroom journals "should look like" and said parents please make sure the journals look like this... 1.) This is the first mention of journals therefore, I didn't even know they have journals 2.) Am I the only one who makes sure the kids do their journals correctly when I am going over the lesson? 3.) Teacher says they were given 1 hour to test and please view the grade on home access center.. My son got a 44%.. So I text back asking about the 1 hour since he is suppose to get extended time.. Teacher says Oh I will give him extra time on Monday...?? So how is there a grade now?

How do I stop judging other teachers by what I do for my class? I know I am not perfect but come on, if the kid gets accommodations then I give them accomodations.. I also have the kids cut/paste their spelling words in the agendas not copy them down if they have dyslexia..

Judy2/CA Have you spoken with the teacher in person? I would ask to make an appointment with her to discuss this and any other issues you may have.
