So, I'm a new teacher to Kindergarten and I will be having my first real observation. I will be observed during my Language Arts block, which usually consist of a mini-lesson and literacy centers/reading groups. Any suggestions/ideas for a mini-lesson related to Thanksgiving that can be quick? I'm still trying to find my way with being a first year teacher, and my mini-lessons sometimes end up being more than just 5-10 minutes.
flacka Before your observation read a book about being thankful and have them recall things in the book that they were thankful for. Then have them think-pair-share some ideas of what they are thankful for. (maybe in social studies)

For your observation have a sentence strip pre made with "I am thankful for" and several cards, each with a picture...See More
