UCLA Extension Online: Six AP Courses in April

    This April, UCLA Extension is offering six (6) online
    Advanced Placement (AP) Training courses, for the first
    time. The online Advanced Placement courses are:

    AP - Calculus: April 10 to May 15, 2006
    Instructor: David C. Platt, Front Range Community

    AP - English Literature and Composition: April 10 to May
    15, 2006
    Instructor: Ellen Greenblatt, University High School,

    AP - English Language and Composition: April 11 to May
    16, 2006
    Instructor: Carol Elsen, Valley Christian School, Montana

    AP - U.S. History: April 12 to May 17, 2006
    Instructor: Mark Bach, APEXLearning , Washington

    AP - Psychology: April 13 to May 18, 2006
    Instructor: Eileen E. Hermansen, MA, IB, AP Programs
    Coordinator, Vista Unified School District, California

    AP - Biology: April 18 to May 23, 2006
    Instructor: Rachel Tenenbaum, San Diego City Schools, CA

    Each course costs $535 and is a 45-hour equivalent and 4.5

    Textbooks for each course are the AP Teacher’s Guide and
    Course Description in the subject and are available at

    California Teachers Assn (CTA) members receive $50 off
    when enrolling in UCLA Extension’s online AP courses. All
    members have to do is identify themselves as CTA members
    when enrolling – via telephone, fax or online. This offer
    is only applicable to Spring 2006 online courses. Summer
    online AP courses begin in June.

    Technical requirements are a PC or Macintosh computer with
    reliable access to the Internet with Explorer or Navigator
    (latest version) and access to online courses is 24/7 from
    home, work, and abroad. UCLA Extension utilizes
    Blackboard for its online courses and an orientation is
