Job Description
R.A.D. Homeschooling is looking for an amazing Liberal Arts teacher who has a true passion for teaching. We are looking for a teacher who has a love of literature and theater as well as a strong knowledge of cultural studies and is willing to expose the student to some Philosophy and Psychology. Reading and Language Arts would naturally be a part of this teacher’s responsibilities.
Our teachers must be excited to share their love of the subject matter, embrace a “think outside of the box” approach and maintain an openness to new ideas and experiences.
We envision a learning environment filled with positive energy in the classroom as well as one that includes opportunities “in the real world” to enrich the learning experience. This would include local field trips once a week as well domestic and international travel. (Current passport required) The travel is considered part of the job and all travel expenses will be covered. The candidate should be comfortable planning and organizing these trips.
The position could be considered part time due to the weekly schedule. Classes will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with each subject covering 30 minutes. The school day will begin at 9:00am and end at 2:00pm. There will be another teacher involved in the teaching of math and science.
This is an exciting opportunity to work one-on-one with a 6th grader student who is fun, intelligent and eager to learn! This position will be approximately 10.5 hours per week which would include 6 hours a week for preparation for a total of 47 hours per month.
