Materials Required: picture cards, magazines, poster paper

Concepts Taught: classifying

First you introduce categories:people, vehicles, animals, fruit etc. Then you hide picture cards with drawings of each category around the classroom, and you divide the classroom in teams and each team is assigned a category. Each team has to find the picture cards pertaining to their category.
When this activity is finished, each team cuts out from old magazines, things that belong to their category and paste it on a posterboard.
This activity is for first graders.
