Materials Required: video camera, parent/child permission,
Activity Time: center play- to tape homemaking pretense
Concepts Taught: video taping play explores emergent literacy

During center time in your preschool class, you may want to
begin collecting videotapes of the children's "story-playing".
Discuss the idea with the class and describe it for parents
prior to taping.Be sure to get parents' written permission.
A camera can be routinely set up at the homemaking center
to record during center play as convenient. Frequently, let
the class watch their tapes so child players can describe
their"story". Literacy skills (creative conversations) will
be developing as the children enjoy favorite characters and
themes from their own class creations. Save & enjoy!
