Materials Required: One dictionary per student
Activity Time: 40 minutes or so

Open dictionary.
Write down page number.
Choose a word at random from that page.
Write down its definition - NOT the word itself.
Close dictionary.
Repeat above x times.
Give your list and dictionary to a partner.
Have a race to find the words defined.

The competetive element works well.
