Materials Required: student's stuffed animals that are in the book, a pillow case
Activity Time: 20-30 minutes
Concepts Taught: Reading Comprehension

This is a fun activity the younger elementary students can enjoy. After reading The Mitten, By: Jan Brett ask your students to bring in fairly small stuffed animals that are in the book. (fox, bear, mouse, etc.) Then have each child attempt to put their animals into the "mitten" (pillowcase) and see how many animals can fit.
