Kentucky Wesleyan College, Owensboro, Daviess
Materials Required: poster, lots of room
Activity Time: no more than 15 minutes
Concepts Taught: Parts of the body, pronunciation
Make a poster labeling the parts of the body-
head, shoulders, legs, feet, eyes, ears, nose,
and mouth. Teach your students how to sing "Head,
Shoulders, Knees and Toes" in Spanish
(Cabeza,hombros,piernas,pies). I gurantee they
will remember the parts of the body after you
let them sing that song a few times. Do it with
them the frist few times, making sure everyone
is particpating, stand on a chair if you have to.
After a few rounds, though, ask if a student
would like to lead and have you sing along.
When you think they are ready, let them sing and
dance all by themselves. My education and after
school classes loved this lesson. I hope yours
do too!
