My students love this activity using word wall words! Students take turns being the "teacher". The student who is the teacher secretly chooses one word wall word. He/she gives the rest of the class 4 or 5 clues (it has 4 letters, it is a noun, it rhymes with lake, it is a noun, etc.). The child then calls on a classmate to guess the word. The guesser comes up and writes the word on the board. If correct, he/she gets to be the "teacher". If not, he/she sits back down, and the student who is the teacher continues to call on other volunteers to guess. Before doing this activity, I modeled the procedure several times so that my students would know what to do.
