Multiplication is a tough concepts for some students. I feel it should incorporate concrete activities as well as memorization.
Hand-out a baggy full of Cheerios to each student. Put a multiplication problem on the board(ex: 3x4). Have the students use the Cheerios to show 4 groups of three OR 3 groups of four and so on. When they are finished doing a few problems, they can eat the Cheerios. Enjoy!!
